CUSTOM TEETH MOLD KIT INSTRUCTIONS
Please read instructions carefully before making the mold. Make sure to move quickly during the entire process as the putty dries extremely quick.
Step 1: Identify Trays and Putty (Impression Materials).
Identify the enclosed upper and lower trays and putty (impression material). Use one putty pack per tray.
Step 2: Mixing the Putty and Loading the Tray
Remove the putty & rapidly mix the 2 colors together with your fingers. (about 10 seconds)
Then roll the mixture between your hands into a uniform strand. (see fig. 1 & 2 below)
Evenly push the material into all portions of the tray as shown in figure 3.
Step 3: Taking the mold From start to finish, this step takes about 2 minutes, & should be done in front of a mirror
Center the tray with the front teeth close to the rim of plastic, but not hitting the plastic & firmly press the upper tray into your teeth until you feel the tips of your teeth going through the putty material and lightly touching the bottom inside of the plastic tray. (Do not bite into it, simply press the upper tray into your teeth) (see fig. 4 below)
Once seated, do not move the tray until the putty sets. Keep your lips relaxed and loose. When seating the lower tray, follow the same steps, but also keep your tongue towards the roof of your mouth. Then once the tray has been firmly seated, relax your tongue.
Once removed, examine the mold. The impression should show accurate details of your teeth. (see figures 6 & 7 below)
Step 4: Take the Handi Mix Die Stone & Activator Liquid out. Pour entire contents of activator liquid into jar of powder. Reseal jar. Turn jar over and tap on table surface to ensure powder has dropped entirely from bottom of jar. Shake vigorously for 15- 20 seconds and immedietely pour into impression. Tap the impression tray lightly as you pour the die stone over the putty. It might even drip or run over the sides and top but that is okay.
Be sure to move quickly once you have placed the activator liquid into the die stone container. This will dry quickly and you must move quickly so it does not get hard before you pour it.
STEP 5: Find a place to leave the impression to dry on a paper towel and solid surface for approx 1- 1.5 hours. When it is dry, pull the die stone part slowly from the putty and tray and make sure all the teeth and gumlines are visible and distinct, not chalky or not visible. Click here to see examples of acceptable finished molds.
STEP 6: Wrap the die stone impression carefully in something soft like tissue, paper towel, bubble wrap and send it in a small box (soap box, jewelry box) so that it won't move around and does not get broken or damaged during shipment. At the post office, ask for a priority mail box, then double box the mold. Make sure the mold is double-boxed as stated.
Pull the leftover putty out of the tray and throw it away. Clean and sterilize the impression tray for future use.
GangstaGold will notify a customer within 3 business days upon receipt of a mold and payment should the impressions be unacceptable, broken, has air bubbles, is too thin or sent without the proper gum lines showing
